Device and iOS

• iPhone only.
• iOS 18.1 or later.
• For in-app RAW capture, your lens must support RAW.

Permissions

• Camera permission to take photos.
• Photos permission to import and save.
• Files access when using Files import or export.

Club note

Buying or restoring Club needs App Store access.

What Club gives you

• 48MP Fusion capture mode.
• Wilhelm built-in preset.
• Early access style messaging for upcoming upgrades.

How to join

1. Open Club.
2. Tap View subscription.
3. Complete purchase in the App Store sheet.
4. When successful, you will see You're in Club.

Already a member?

Tap View subscription to open iOS subscription management.

Not a member yet?

Locked 48MP and Wilhelm options will guide you to Club.

Main controls

• A mode: automatic exposure with an EV slider.
• M mode: manual ISO, shutter, warmth, and focus.
• Preset picker for fast looks.
• Format switch: 12MP / 48MP (48MP may be locked without Club).
• Grid toggle.
• Lens picker for supported front/rear lenses.
• Flash toggle when available (flash is off in 48MP mode).
• Tap-to-focus / tap-to-expose.
• Destination switch (Gallery / Photos App) in camera.

How to capture

1. Open Camera from Home.
2. Pick mode and preset.
3. Choose 12MP or 48MP.
4. Frame your photo. Tap the screen if you want to set focus/exposure.
5. Press the shutter button.

Quick exposure check

• Hold TEST to preview exposure.
• Release to return to normal camera view.
• TEST preview does not save a regular photo.

Grid view

• Tap a photo to open fullscreen.
• Tap Select to choose multiple photos.
• Use multi-select actions: Delete or Share.

Fullscreen view

• Swipe left or right to move between photos.
• Pinch or double-tap to zoom.
• Tap once to show/hide controls.
• Open info to see preset and photo details.
• Tap the Lab icon to edit.

Info may show

• Focal length
• Exposure values
• Aperture
• Shutter speed
• Date and time

Control groups

• RAW: Exposure, EDR, Boost
• Light: Tone Curve, Highlights, Shadows, Contrast, Brightness
• Color: Saturation, Warmth, Tint, Grade

Key actions

• Hold Compare to see the original.
• Open Presets to change the look quickly.
• Use Reset to start fresh.
• Tap Save to keep your edits.
• If you close with unsaved changes, LUMA asks what you want to do.

Color grade tools

• Shadows wheel
• Midtones wheel
• Highlights wheel
• Grade intensity

Tone Curve

Use five points: Blacks, Shadows, Midtones, Highlights, Whites.

Preset types

• Built-in: Sensei, Flat, and Wilhelm (Club).
• Custom: presets you create from your edits.
• Older format: presets from much older versions that may not work now.

Use a preset

1. Open Presets from Camera or Lab.
2. Tap a preset to apply it.
3. If a preset is locked, LUMA takes you to Club.

Create your own preset

1. Edit a photo the way you like.
2. Open preset creator.
3. Name your preset and choose a color.
4. Tap Create.

Notes for older presets

• You can find older presets under Incompatible Presets.
• Some older edited photos may show a warning before opening Lab.
• If Club is inactive, Wilhelm falls back to Sensei.

Import from Photos

1. Home -> Import -> Photos App.
2. Choose your RAW photos.
3. Tap Import selected.

Import from Files

1. Home -> Import -> Files App.
2. Choose one or more RAW files.
3. They are added to the develop queue.

After import

Imported files follow the same Ready to develop flow as camera captures in Gallery mode.

• Browse a hand-picked gallery of LUMA photos.
• Great for inspiration and quality reference.

Settings switches

• Tap-to-expose in manual mode.
• Hide develop warning.
• Hide rotating quotes.

Camera button is unavailable

Turn on Camera permission for LUMA in iOS Settings.

You cannot find RAW photos in Photos import

Make sure the selected photos are RAW originals.

New captures are not in LUMA Gallery

Check destination. In Photos App mode, captures go directly to Photos.

Your edits did not save

In Lab, tap Save before leaving.

Export looks flat in another app

Try EDR Safe or SDR so it works better in more apps.

An old preset will not apply

It may be from an older version. Use another preset or make it again in the current version.

48MP is locked or unavailable

Open Club and check membership status. Without Club, LUMA uses 12MP.

Flash cannot be turned on

48MP Fusion turns flash off. Switch to 12MP to use flash.

Does LUMA send my photos to the cloud to edit them?

No. Capture, editing, and export are processed on your device.

What is the safest share format?

EDR Safe (10-bit) is a great default for quality and sharing behavior.

What works almost everywhere?

SDR (8-bit).

When should I use Gallery destination?

Use it when you want to pick your best shots first, then edit.

When should I use Photos App destination?

Use it when you want the fastest path from camera to Photos.

Can I make my own presets?

Yes. Edit a photo in Lab, then create a custom preset.

What does Club unlock?

48MP Fusion and the Wilhelm preset.

Why does 48MP show a lock?

That option needs an active Club membership.
