LUMA helps you take beautiful photos on iPhone and edit them your way. This guide walks you from first launch to sharing your final image.

What LUMA Is

LUMA is a camera and photo editing app for iPhone. You can shoot in RAW for extra quality, use presets for instant looks, and fine-tune your photos in Lab.

  • Take high-quality photos with Auto or Manual controls.
  • Choose 12MP or 48MP Fusion (with Club).
  • Edit light and color while keeping your original photo safe.
  • Import RAW photos from Photos or Files.
  • Export to Photos, Files, or original RAW.
  • Process many RAW photos at once with RAW Batch.

Quick Start (5 Minutes)

  1. Open LUMA and tap Start.
  2. On Home, set Destination to Gallery if you want to pick your best shots first.
  3. (Optional) Tap Club if you want 48MP Fusion and Wilhelm.
  4. Tap Camera, choose 12MP or 48MP, and take a few photos.
  5. Open Ready to develop, keep what you want, then continue.
  6. Open Gallery, pick a photo, and tap the Lab icon to edit.
  7. Tap Save, then share in the format you want.

Fast option: Set destination to Photos App to save processed photos straight to Photos after each capture.

Requirements and Permissions

Home Screen and Destinations

Home is where you choose what to do next.

  • Open Camera.
  • Open Import when destination is Gallery.
  • Open RAW Batch when destination is Photos App.
  • Pick your active Preset.
  • Change Destination.
  • Open Club for membership and benefits.
  • Open More for settings and sample gallery.

Destination: Gallery

Your shots go to Ready to develop first. You choose what to keep and what to remove.

Destination: Photos App

Your shot is processed right away and saved directly to Photos.

LUMA Club

Open Club from Home with the Club button.

Camera Guide

Use Camera to shoot quickly or take full control.

Ready to Develop

You see this screen for Gallery captures and imported RAW photos.

  1. Open Ready to develop.
  2. Tap photos to keep them selected, or remove selection.
  3. Use Select all / Deselect all for speed.
  4. Tap the bottom button to continue.

Important: this step is final. Selected photos are kept and developed. Unselected photos are deleted.

Lab Editor

Lab lets you edit your photo while keeping the original file untouched.

Presets

Import Photos

You can bring RAW photos into LUMA from Photos or Files.

Export and Share

Open Share from a selected photo or from fullscreen view.

EDR (10-bit)

Best quality for HDR-ready screens and apps.

EDR Safe (10-bit)

Great quality with safer behavior when shared to SDR apps.

SDR (8-bit)

Works well in almost every app and screen.

Original (raw)

Your original RAW file, untouched.

  • EDR, EDR Safe, and SDR include your LUMA edits.
  • Original RAW does not include LUMA edits.

RAW Batch Processor

Need to process many RAW photos at once? Use RAW Batch.

  1. Set destination to Photos App.
  2. Open RAW Batch.
  3. Add RAW files from Files.
  4. Choose a preset.
  5. Tap Develop.
  6. Wait for the completion message.
  • Finished images go to Photos.
  • You can cancel while processing.
