Introducing 48MP Fusion for LUMA

Today, LUMA introduces 48MP Fusion, a new capture mode designed to bring higher-resolution detail and a more refined image straight from your iPhone.

This new Fusion pipeline is part of LUMA Club, available through an in-app subscription for creators who want access to premium capture capabilities.

48MP Fusion is available across all supported LUMA hardware, and adapts to each device's capture capability. Newer iPhones can capture larger bursts, blending up to 8 Bayer RAW frames, while older devices may capture around 4 RAW frames in the burst. The result is one high-resolution photo with stronger texture, cleaner edges, and more natural fine detail.

Instead of treating each shot as a single moment, Fusion evaluates subtle differences across frames and builds a final image from the strongest information in each one. The result is a photo that feels clearer and more stable, especially in scenes with mixed light, subtle motion, or complex texture.

This multi-frame approach is useful because high resolution alone is not enough. What matters is how well detail is preserved while noise stays controlled. Fusion is built to improve both at the same time, so photos look richer without feeling over-processed.

Because LUMA remains RAW-first, 48MP Fusion also preserves editing flexibility for creators who want to shape their final look later in Lab. You get a stronger starting image while keeping the creative headroom expected from a professional mobile workflow.

With 48MP Fusion, LUMA delivers a new balance of clarity, consistency, and control, built for creators who want premium image quality in a fast, mobile-first camera experience.
