Today, Digital Architecture announced LUMA 4.8, a major update that brings a faster, more refined Lab experience to iPhone photographers.
Lab has been rebuilt for substantially better performance, with smoother pinch-to-zoom, faster panning, and more immediate preview rendering as edits are made. The new rendering path also delivers higher-quality zooming, giving creators a clearer view of texture, edges, and fine detail when working in close.
The Lab histogram now surfaces the EDR range directly in the editing view, making it easier to understand highlight headroom and where extended dynamic range begins while shaping tone, contrast, and brightness.
LUMA 4.8 also introduces a new monthly option for Club, joining the annual membership and giving more creators a flexible way to unlock premium features, including 48MP Fusion and exclusive Presets.
The new Lab experience is available to all users as part of the free LUMA 4.8 update, available now on the App Store.
