Today, Digital Architecture announced LUMA 4.9, a free update that brings natural-language Preset editing, new framed export styles, and expanded device support to iPhone photographers.
Talk to Sensei lets creators describe the Preset they want in Lab and watch the edit come to life. On supported devices with Apple Intelligence, LUMA translates a written direction into the same editable RAW-pipeline controls used throughout Lab, so photographers can keep refining tone, color, texture, grain, and curve after Sensei makes its first pass.
LUMA 4.9 also adds framed exports for Club members. Finished photos can now be wrapped in share-ready styles, including Border, Exif, Timestamp, Before / After, Film Strip, Polaroid, Dark Border, Magazine, and Vintage Paper.
The release extends LUMA to legacy devices running iOS 15, iOS 16, and iOS 17. On those devices, LUMA works in a simplified mode with pre-configured Presets, while full app capability remains available on iOS 18 and later.
LUMA 4.9 also includes minor bug fixes and is available now on the App Store.
